Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram has said that a final decision on statehood for Telangana will be taken by the Centre only after obtaining views from all political parties in the State.
Responding to a question during his monthly press conference here today, the Union Home Minister said that his Ministry will implement the decision of the government. Stating that the Home Ministry was not a party to the issue, he said that the Srikrishna Committee was formed while implementing the directions from the government. It is the government which has to implement the report given by the Committee, he added. He also denied that any report over Telangana issue was sent to the President. (NSS)
