Hyderabad, November 26: K Sudhakar, the 14th additional chief metropolitan magistrate of Hyderabad on Wednesday reserved his order to Thursday on a petition filed by B Nandini Raju, wife of Satyam’s former chairman Ramalinga Raju, who is seeking a specialised medicare in Nims hospital for her husband, for which she is willing to bear the cost.
Since the budget of the prisons department is small and difficult to get the official sanction in time, she said she is prepared to bear nearly Rs 8 lakh required for a specialised medical care to be administered to Raju for his Hepatitis C in the next 56 days.
CBI, which opposed the plea, said it’s not appropriate to keep Raju out of jail at a time when the trial is set to start in the case. Moreover, the medicines prescribed for Raju’s treatment can as well be administered in the jail by the jail doctors, B Ravindranath, CBI’s deputy legal advisor told the court. The judgment on this would come out on Thursday.
