Telangana Political Joint Action Committee (TP-JAC) today said the JAC would take a decision on the ensuing by-elections to be held for 18 assembly constituencies in the state, only after holding a meeting with the leaders concerned.
Talking to reporters here, TP-JAC Chairaman Prof Kodandaram said the JAC, in its next meeting, would take a decision on whom to support in the by-elections particularly for Parakala assembly seat in Warangal district. It may be mentioned that Parakala seat fell vacant due to the disqualification of Congress MLA Konda Surekha who has now joined YSR Congress party. The JAC would also discuss and finalise the strategy to be adopted to intensify the statehood agitation, he said adding the JAC meeting would primarily focus on how to mount pressure on the Congress and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on the demand for statehood for Telangana region. The recent bus yatra taken up by the JAC in Telangana districts to create awareness amoung the youth and student on prevention of suicides committing for the cause of separate telanaga statehood, was successful, he claimed.
