Works related to Godavari Pushkaralu will be completed by July 1, Endowment Minister A Indrakaran Reddy has said. Talks held on Friday with Archakas and temple employees were successful and the government will resolve their issues, he stated.
The minister called on Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at the camp office and apprised him of the demands of Archakas and temple staff after calling off their stir on salaries from the government exchequer and other demands and problems.
Speaking to the media later at the Secretariat, Indrakaran said a committee will be constituted to look into the issue and submit a report in a month. He said the Chief Minister has agreed to increase Archakas’ honorarium to Rs 6,000 from Rs 2,500 for regular puja and other rituals at the temples, besides one increment from July 1.
Based on the committees’ recommendations, the government will take an amicable decision, he remarked. The Chief Minister expressed his readiness to resolve all the issues based on the committee’s report and will take a decision in two months, he said. The TRS government, he said, was committed to set up a Dharmika Parishad and Archaka Welfare Fund, he added. (NSS)
