Decision on lifting of cases against students soon: Sabitha

Hyderabad, September 27: Home Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy on Sunday stated the government would make an announcement on lifting of police cases against students, who participated in the bifurcation of statehood agitation, after conducting a review meeting with officials.

Talking to media persons after participating in a series of development programmes at Rajendranagar in the City on Sunday, Ms Indra Reddy said that a decision on lifting police cases against students would be taken within three to four days.

The Home Minister said that the cases would be lifted in a phased manner and the government would issue a statement officially in three-four days in this regard.

Meanwhile Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal on Sunday wrote a letter to Chief Minister K Rosaiah urging him to lift all police cases against those who participated in the agitations over the bifurcation of statehood.
He demanded a clear statement on the issue since the statements of Home Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy and Director General of Police K Aravinda Rao on lifting of police cases were confusing the students.

He asked Chief Minister to lift all police cases against those who participated in the statehood agitation.
