All India Jameatul Quraish, Hyderabad has decided to boycott Unislamic celebrations. It has appealed to Quraish Community to refrain from celebrations like Sanchak, Mehendi etc. Which have no relevance with Islam.
A meeting of the Association was held under the chairmanship of Mr. Mohammed Saleem. It was also decided to perform marriages of 21 poor girls. It has invited applications from poor and deserving persons. The applications may be submitted at its office in Shah Gunj near Kaman Shamsul Umara. Present on this occasion were Mr. Moin Babu Chowdhary, Mr. Abdul Khader, Mr. Hashim, Mr. Muneer Quraishi, Mr. Mohammed Abdul Khadir, Mr. Mohammed Qasim, Mr. Nawab, Mr. Fareed Quraishi, Mr. Khaja Pasha and others.
The Association also decided to award Rs. 3,000 as scholarship to the students studying intermediate course. For degree students, the amount of scholarship will be Rs. 5,000. The association has been giving pensions to 300 widows. It was decided to give pensions to 100 more widows.
It was decided to enhance the amount of pension form Rs. 300 to Rs. 500 per month. A decision was taken to grant financial assistance for marriages upto Rs. 5000. In addition to this, it was decided to release Rs. 3,ooo for funeral expenses.
The association decided to form a Task Force for speedy implementation of its programmes. An appeal was issued for the members of the community not to accept or demand any dowry from brides relatives and also take a vow to abide by the restrictions imposed by the Association.
Mr. Mohammed Saleem told that Music and Band etc. are not allowed in marriage parties. The association proposes to enhance its welfare activities in future.
