Banglore, September 30: A 65-year-old lonely woman was found dead at her residence in Kumaraswamy Layout on Tuesday morning. The neighbours who found a foul smell emanating from her residence informed the police.
Police said that it was initially suspected to be a case of suicide. But preliminary investigations have revealed that the woman died a natural death about three days ago. Leela Prakash, a widow, was staying alone at her residence. Her body was found in a decomposed state by her neighbours. They are on the lookout for her family members.
Burglary
Burglars broke into three houses and made away with valuables over the weekend. P V Uma, a resident of Sheshadripuram and working in a government school, had left from her house on Saturday.
On her return on Tuesday morning, she found the doors open and Rs 50,000 in cash and Rs 1.25 lakh worth valuables missing from the house.
In another incident reported under KG Halli police station, Nitya Vijay, who had gone to visit her relatives on Monday, returned home on Tuesday only to find her house at Pillanna Garden broken into and valuables worth about Rs four lakh stolen.
In yet another incident reported under JP Nagar police station limits, A R Ramesh, a native of Vellore, has alleged that he found valuables worth Rs three lakh missing from his residence.
SUICIDE
Soumya, a 26-year-old BPO employee, committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling fan at her residence under Tilaknagar police station limits on Tuesday.
Police said that her parents had fixed her marriage recently against her will. She is suspected to have committed suicide upset over this matter.
They said that she has not left behind any suicide note.
