Decade-old corpse linked to gang boss Reggie Kray

London, March 11: A Corpse wrapped in carpet and buried under a London patio for around 10 years has been found at a house belonging to a dying pal of 1960s gangland boss Reggie Kray.

The Sun reported today the backyard of cancer-stricken Roy Heath, 52, was dug up after police were tipped off that a body was there.

A team of forensic cops led by an archeologist uncovered the remains inside a rolled up piece of underlay at Heath’s west London home.

The former underworld heavy was arrested on suspicion of murder at a hospice in Lambeth, south London.

He was questioned there under caution in the presence of a lawyer.

Heath, who has just weeks to live, was given bail until later this month.

But one source said, “there will never be enough time to charge and try him, and what’s the point? He’s already got a death sentence.”

Friends said Heath met Kray, who ruled London’s gangland in the 1960s with twin brother Ronnie, while in prison and carried out work for the pair.

Cops began trying last night to identify the skeleton, which was thought to be male.

Detective inspector Tim Dobson appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

“It is believed that the body may have been at the scene between 15 and 20 years,” he said.

Police were told in 1997 that Heath murdered a business rival, but nothing could be proven.

They were expected to continue searching the property for at least another week to see if more bodies could be found.

Another man, age 47, was also arrested following the discovery of the remains and was being questioned at a central London police station.
