Debt-ridden farmer commits suicide

Financial problems and debts drove a 29-year-old farmer to suicide.

According to Pargi police, the deceased, P. Vidhakar Reddy, took the extreme step by setting himself ablaze at his residence in Pargi on May 4. He was admitted to the Osmania General Hospital where he succumbed on Saturday night. He was reportedly in debts of over Rs. 70,000 which he took from a bank and private financiers. He was unable to clear loans due to crop failure which consequently drove him to suicide. (INN)
