New Delhi, Nov. 30 : Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Monday criticised the Central government on growing Intolerance in the country and said it is the biggest treat and should be debated not only inside the Parliament but also outside.
“Intolerance is the biggest threat to the country; debate should happen not only in the Parliament but outside as well,” Singh told media here.
Suggesting that the Bharatiya Janata Party to look into its past, Singh said “If Bharatiya Janata Party is honest then did they sacked Giriraj Singh? What action was taken on Yogi Adityanath, Sadhvi Prachi and others who were giving such statements? There is no bigger issue than dividing the country.”
The opposition had been seeking a discussion on the issue of intolerance for quite some time.
At the all-party meeting held on November 25, opposition parties made a strong pitch for an early discussion on the issue, insisting that returning of awards by writers, artistes and filmmakers should not be taken lightly. (ANI)
