Parents of a BPO staffer in Pune alleged the role of their son-in-law behind the Mysterious death of their daughter.
On Friday, Shaik Khajabee (25), a BPO employee, was found dead in mysterious conditions at her flat in Mangalnagar of Wakad area in Pune. Khajabee was a native of Nandigama in Krishna district, married one Muneeb Mohammed of Khajipuram village of Madhira mandal in Khammam district, about three years ago against the wishes of her parents.
“It is a cold blooded murder,” alleged victim’s father Lalu Saheb. He along with some of his family members left for Pune almost immediately after Pune police informed them about the ‘suicide’ of Khajabee.
According to Pune police, the deceased was found hanging from ceiling fan in her residence. The daughter of the flat ownerwho was only four-year-old noticed Khajabee hanging in her bedroom and alerted her father who in turn called the police.
Muneeb Mohammed is employed as an engineer with a giant civil construction firm. Lalu is a driver with a private transport operator.
According to victim’s cousin Shaik Karimullah, the girl’s parents had left for Pune early in the morning and approached the police there to investigate into the murder angle. Shaik Karimullah, said Muneeb had been harassing his sister for dowry ever since their marriage. A year after the marriage Muneeb tried to marry another girl proposed by his parents, said Karimullah.
Khajabee told her parents about the dowry demands and wanted their intervention.
Therefore, her parents fulfilled all the wishes of Muneeb and held a function in Nandigama two years ago to make the marriage official.
Muneeb reportedly began harassing Khajabee demanding more dowry and intimidated to marry another girl if she failed to meet his demands. Unable to face the torture, Khajabee decided to return home and booked a ticket 20 days ago, said Karimullah. Nevertheless, she dropped her plans and stayed back for reasons not known to them, he added.
