Deadly rainfall battering South China to abate starting today

The National Meteorological Center (NMC) has predicted that the deadly downpour that has wreaked havoc in south China, killing at least 35 people so far, will start to weaken today.

The NMC although removed the alert for rainstorms on Sunday morning but said that heavy rains will continue to lash some parts of Guangdong and Fujian provinces, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Taiwan , reported Xinhua.

Rainstorms that have been battering large parts of South China since May 4 have broken a 40-year rainfall record. (ANI)
