Congress senior leader and MLA Gade Venkata Reddy opined that the Congress party would suffer major damage in the ensuing by-elections with the CBI seizure of Sakshi newspaper accounts.
Talking to media persons at the Congress Legislature Party office, he said that the seizure of accounts against Sakshi newspaper owned by Kadapa MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, would send wrong message among the people in the State, particularly at the time of by-elections.
He said that the people would believe that the government was taking revenge against Jagan Mohan Reddy for his exit from the Congress party.
Now the seizure of accounts Sakhi’s account would damage Congress party’s image in the by-elections, he stated. He asked Jagan Mohan Reddy to come clean from the corruption charges instead of misusing media for shielding himself from the probe and arrest.
Venkat Reddy appealed to the CBI to defreeze the accounts considering the interests of employees’ families. (INN)
