New Delhi, August 25: Delhi Ranji skipper Virender Sehwag is learnt to have given his consent to continue with his services to his home-state after a high profile meeting with DDCA president Arun Jaitley. A new selection committee is going to be formed as it was the primary demand of the skipper who had hurled allegations of corruption against the prevailing system.
Jaitley is said to still have some inhibitions about the proposed contract system for the state-level players but all questions regarding the meeting will be answered by the DDCA president in a press conference later in the day.
There were signs of a truce between the Delhi and Districts Cricket Association and the revolting players yesterday itself, after Gautam Gambhir and Ishant Sharma, who had skipped the DDCA conditioning camp since its start, attended it on Monday.
Both the players had joined Virender Sehwag in protesting against alleged corrupt practices in the DDCA and had refused to attend the conditioning camp organised by the association.
Sehwag has been leading the revolt against DDCA, alleging corruption and nepotism in selection procedure. His charges were backed by DDCA vice-President and selection committee chairman Chetan Chauhan.
Sehwag had threatened to leave Delhi for Haryana if his grievances were not addressed.
