South Zone DCP V. Satyanarayana on Saturday directed Mir Chowk Police Station to register an FIR against Bandla Publication Pvt Ltd for publishing an alleged derogatory chapter on Prophet Mohammed (PBUH).
The directions were issued based on a complaint lodged by Majlis Tahafuz-e-Khatam-e-Nabuvvat, a religious organisation, on Saturday. According to MTKN leader Mohammed Arshad Ali, the publication has resorted to blasphemy in a chapter titled “Vijetha Competitions, TSPSC Group – 2, Paper – 2, Section – I, wherein it tried to distort history of Islam. Further, it also published an imaginary picture of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH). MIM MLA Ahmed Balala and other religious asked the DCP to take stern action against the publisher.
Reacting to the complaint, the DCP assured that immediate action would be taken against the publisher and directed the Mir Chowk Inspector to register an FIR. (INN)
