New Delhi: A school teacher was hospitalised after he was stabbed allegedly by four teenagers who tried to rob him at Sanjay Jheel park in East Delhi, police said on Friday.
Anil Kumar, 39, who teaches in an MCD school at Shashi Garden area, was sitting alone in the park of Sanjay Jheel last afternoon reading newspaper when four teenagers, in age group 16-17 years, reached there and tried to rob him, said a police officer.
On resisting their move the accused stabbed Kumar in the stomach and fled away from the spot, he said adding that the injured teacher then made a PCR call for help.
The cops who reached there admitted him to LBS Hospital where he was treated for a gash on the left side of his stomach and is now out of danger, the officer said.
A case has been registered in connection with the crime at Pandav Nagar police station. The accused are still at large even as police is trying to catch them, he added.
