Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India has found at least five or six places in Pakistan where underworld Don, Dawood Ibrahim stayed. Intelligence report revealed that Dawood Ibrahim has been shifted to Afghan-Pak border two weeks ago. Last month he was seen in Karachi and now he has been shifted to Afghan-Pak border. Pakistani Authorities have been helping him in his movements. He never stays at any place for more than a month.
Mr. S. Jaya Shanker, Foreign Secretary of India visited Pakistan as part of his SAARC program but the issue of terrorism and Dawood Ibrahim’s presence in Pakistan was not discussed. The places of residence of Dawood Ibrahim in Pakistan and the details of his Pakistani passports corroborated with the information given by Intelligence Agencies of foreign countries including US.
Home Minister of India, Mr. Rajnath Singh told the Parliament on 11th May this year that a Red Corner Notice was issued for the arrest of Dawood Ibrahim who is the prime accused in accused in the 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts. Despite providing sufficient proof to Pakistan, Pakistani authorities have not been able to locate his residence. They have not even initiate legal process against Dawood Ibrahim. Pakistan has an obligation to find out any individual against whom a Red Corner Notice has been issued. Pakistan should take immediate steps for the deportation of Dawood Ibrahim and start legal process in this regard. Govt. of India will continue to exert its pressure on Govt. Pakistan to fulfill its International obligations and trace out Dawood Ibrahim and hand him over to India.
