The families who neglect the movements of their sons and daughters have to face the bad days when their children tarnish their image in society. The carelessness of the parents in educating and training them in Islamic Ideology results in waywardness. In the name of modernity and development, the parents have given free hands to their sons and daughters. In the emerging developmental activities of the metro city of Hyderabad has resulted in shameless activities of boys and girls. There was a time when hoteling for boys was treated as anti-social but now the girls are frequently found in hotels and restaurants talking to their boyfriends. The girls of Muslim community are decorating hotels and restaurants these days. The girls take pride in having more than one boyfriend. There are many luxury hotels in Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Madhapur, Hitech City etc, where boys and girls could be seen mixing with each other shamelessly.
There is a cafe at Road No.12 at Banjara Hills which is the meeting place for young boys and girls. Any respectable person would not tolerate to stay even for a minute in it because he cannot see the scenes which are shameful. The boys and girls in this cafe resort to activities which arouse sexual passions. Many burkha clad girls also come here to meet their boyfriends. Most of the girls belong to elitists’ families. The parents do not put any ban on such activities of their children. There are many cafes in the city where arrangements are made for a boy and a girl to meet in loneliness for which small cabins and smaller rooms have been erected. Some Muslims have also invested their money in such establishments. The moral degradation has increased to such an extent that the following situation stated by an Urdu poet can be practically seen:
“Kal Tak Joo Qoum Khelthi thi shamsheeroun ke saath
Aaj filmein Dekhthi hai apni hamsheeroun ke saath”( till yesterday the community which used to play with swords , is now engaged in seeing the films with their sisters).
When the boys and girls of respectable families cross the limits of shame the parents wake up from their slumber. They realize that their sons and daughters have been spoiled due to their negligence and inappropriate affection. These days it is not unsocial for the girls to wander in the markets with hand in hand with their boyfriends. The mindsets of the parents have also shown little changes. They have stopped preventive measures. Today, there is a situation in which the daughter wanders with her boyfriend in front of her father. The girls talk to their boyfriend relentlessly in their houses in front of their parents. The height of it is that some boyfriends have found an access to the residences of their beloveds.
A very famous Islamic saint, Hazrath Hasan Basari had admonished one of his devotees not to sit alone with a strange women even if she enjoys the status of the famous Muslim woman saint, Hazrath Rabia Basari and even if he is reciting the Quran in the presence of a stranger woman in loneliness.
Our ancestors had admonished us to take care of such things but today the situation is our daughters feel pride in having boyfriends and the pity is that parents have no objection for all such activities.
