Daughter and her lover hacked to death by Punjabi father

Now Punjab is hitting the headlines for all the wrong reasons next to Haryana. In the most recent incident of honour killing, a man hacked his daughter and her lover to death in the Rajgarh Kubbe village of Bhatinda district.

According to the police reports, the horrifying incident took place late in the night when Chamkaur Singh (47) saw his daughter Manjinder Kaur (20) with the neighbour’s son Simranjit Singh (25).

Boiled with rage, Chamkaur attacked Simranjit with an axe. Catch a glimpse of her father attacking her lover, Manjinder tried to get involved in an attempt to protect Simranjit.

But an infuriate Chamkaur did not show mercy to his daughter. He attacked both his daughter and the neighbour’s son, killing them on the spot.

“The accused Chamkaur Singh, after killing his daughter and Simranjit, went to the Maud police station and confessed to the murder of his daughter and neighbour’s son.I had also received a call from Chamkaur Singh around 1.30 am. I hurried to his house but when I reached there I found the bodies of both Manjinder and Simranjit lying in the courtyard,” said Gurpreet Singh, the village headman.

According to the locals Manjinder and Simranjit had been dating for some time now. Simranjit was pursuing mechanical engineering whereas Manjinder was a nursing student.

Chamkaur left his house to water the fields. Simranjit reached his house to meet Manjinder. On his homecoming, Chamkaur caught the couple red handed.

The police have detained Chamkaur Singh and both bodies have been sent for autospy.
