Dattatreyya, Chowdhary joins Team Modi

Secunderabad MP and BJP senior leader Bandaru Dattatreyya and TDP’s Rajya Sabha MP YS Chowdhary were inducted into the Union Cabinet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi here on Sunday.

Dattatreyya and Chowdhary were among the 21 ministers who were administered oath of office and secrecy by President Pranab Mukherjee at an impressive ceremony held in the Darbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan. While Dattatreyya is the lone face representing Telangana State, Chowdhary is the second minister along with P Ashok Gajapathi Raju to get slot in the Union Cabinet towards TDP’s quota.

While Dattatreyya has been made Minister of State (Independent Charge), Chowdhary has been inducted as Minister of State.

Speaking to media persons after the swearing-in-ceremony, Dattatreyya said he would strive hard to work for development of the country, especially Telangana State. He said he would ensure that Telangana gets its due share of funds and other assistance from the Centre.
