Dattatreya holds review meeting with SLBC

Hyderabad: Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya said that the Central Government was planning to disburse loans to nearly 15 crore people in the country under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana scheme.

Speaking at a review meeting of State Level Bankers Committee meeting here on Saturday, Dattatreya said that around Rs. 1.85 Lakh Crore have been allocated in the recent budget for the purpose. At present, there are nearly 3 crore people benefitting through PMMY. The government intended to provide these loans mainly for the Women entrepreneurs from the backward sections, he said.

Informing on the number of persons benefitted through this scheme, the Union Minister said that nearly 3.50 lakh persons in Telangana and 6.18 lakh persons in Andhra Pradesh were granted loans. There are three different categories for sanctioning loans. Under Shishu category TS gets Rs.550 crore, AP-Rs.1049 crore, under Kishore category TS- Rs.2731 crore, AP- Rs. 2731 crores, under Tharun category TS-Rs.754 crore and AP-Rs.874 crores.

Around Rs. 25,065 crores were disbursed towards loans for the farmers in Telangana state against the target of up to December-2015.
