Dattatreya demands TS Govt. to celebrate Hyderabad Liberation Day Officially

Hyderabad: “Telangana state government should officially celebrate September 17 as Hyderabad Liberation Day “, The Union minister of state for labour and employment Bandaru Dattatreya said in a round-table conference held in Hyderabad today, demanded for Official Celebration of September 17 by Telangana government here.
Speaking on the occasion Telangana – joint action committee (JAC) chairman M Kodandaram said that the day September 17 had created a significant event in the history of Hyderabad. September 17, 1948, was the day when the Hyderabad state, which was under the Nizam’s rule, was integrated into the Indian Union. That has lot of significance, by that day onwards Nizam’s rule came to an end and it became part of Indian republic,” he added. he notified that we should not call it as a Liberation Day or some kind of a Betrayal Day…but let us recognize this as an Integration Day,” he explained. He said that Telangana government should celebrate the day as Integration Day and urged the government to convene an all party meet and hold discussions on the issue.
Khairatabad MLA C. Ramachandra Reddy, Justice L. Narasimha Reddy, lyricsist and writer Suddala Ashok Teja, Telangana JAC Co-convinors Mallepalli Lakshmaih, Venkatreddy, a poet and folk singer Goreti Venkanna, Freedom fighter Baburao Verma and other dignitaries also participated in this function.
