Dattatraya inspects rain-hit areas in Karimnagar

Union Minister for Labour & Employment Bandaru Dattatreya, along with party MLC Chintala Ramachandra Reddy, visited rain-affected areas in Karimnagar district on Wednesday.
After visiting the rain-hit areas in the district, Dattatreya told the media that various types of crops have been badly damaged in about one lakh acres. In Karimnagar district alone, crops were damaged in about 20,000 hectares, Dattatreya said, adding that most of the horticulture crops were damaged in the district. The farmers are very much worried because paddy, mangoes, papaya and other crops were damaged in the heavy rains which were ready for cutting, the Union minister said. Dattatreya, along with district leaders visited various areas where crop was heavily damaged in the unseasoned rains. (NSS)
