The United States has warned the Israeli government against its plan to expropriate 400 hectares of land in the West Bank as it would cause hindrance in peace efforts, said a State Department official.

According to News24, the official said that the U.S. has urged the Israeli government to take the decision back.

Palestinian officials said that it would provoke more violence due to the ongoing conflict in Gaza .

The announcement of the acquisition came on Sunday whereby the Israel radio claimed that the decision was made in response to the killing of three Jewish teenagers.

An Indian Air Force (IAF) jawan has been arrested here today for allegedly spying for Pakistan.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rakesh Kausal said, “We have arrested an Indian Air Force jawan for leaking confidential information to a Pakistani agent.”

“The jawan befriended a woman on the social networking site Orkut, who offered him money in exchange for state secrets. When officers in the Air Force caught him , they court-martialed him and handed him over to us,” Kausal added.

Ten pilgrims were killed and over 30 injured when a bus carrying them collided with a truck in Pali district of Jodhpur in Rajasthan on Sunday.

The bus was returning from the shrine of Baba Ramdeo near Pokhran village when the accident took place.

Eight people, including the bus driver, died on the spot and two others died en route to the hospital.

Of the injured, 28 passengers were admitted to Bagad Hospital in Pali district while 18 others were admitted to Mathuradas Mathur Hospital in Jodhpur.

If media reports are to be believed, mobile messaging service WhatsApp is set to launch a free voice calling feature for its 600 million active users.

Recent changes in the interface of the app suggests the feature is coming soon.

Two more persons, believed to be Indian nationals, have been charged in connection with murder of a 26-year-old Indian man in Singapore last week.

Karthikeyan Prabakaran, 27, and Chellappan Sankar, 28, allegedly murdered Murugaiya Suresh Kumar, who worked here as a technician in a private company, on the night of August 23, local media quoted police as saying.

The two have been remanded for further investigations. On Wednesday, another Indian national Thiruppathi Veerapperumalan, also 26, was the first to be charged for Kumar’s murder. He has denied the charge.

Veteran actor Dimple Kapadia, who will be soon seen on the big screen when the English-language film “Finding Fanny” hits the screens Sep 12, says she found the script of the film “brilliant” and her role “lovely”.

There are not too many filmmakers in Hindi filmdom who attempt to make a film in English, but Dimple says, “It didn’t matter to me whether it’s an English film as long as I was working with Homi Adajania.”

The Union government would soon come out with a national textile policy, Minister of State for Textiles Santosh Kumar Gangwar said here today.

The new textile policy would be announced soon and to finetune the draft policy, a meeting of textile ministers of all states would be convened in September end, he said.

New textile parks would also be set up at the earliest, as the Ministry has received several applications in this regard, he said at the inauguration of the silver jubilee celebrations of Tirupur Exporters’ Association (TEA) here.

After slashing petrol prices by up to Rs 2.50 a litre, the Government is working hard to deliver on its Lok Sabha poll promises and its eyes are now on diesel price reduction, Home Minister Rajnath Singh said today.

“We are working hard to deliver on our promises. We stopped rise of prices and we slashed price of petrol by up to Rs 2.50. Our eyes are now on diesel,” he said.

In the third reduction in rates this month, petrol price was cut last midnight by Rs 1.82 a litre though diesel rate was raised by 50 paise per litre.

Private equity investment in real estate sector jumped over two-fold to Rs 4,100 crore in the first six months of 2014 and is likely to cross Rs 12,000 crore by end of the year.

According to a report by property consultant Cushman & Wakefield, the PE investment in the sector was Rs 6,450 crore in 2013.

INGREDIENTS:

1. Chicken boneless 4 (450gms) cut

2. Mint leaves ½ cup

3. Coriander leaves ½ cup

4. Green chilli 2

5. Cumin seeds ½ tsp and lemon juice 1 Tbsp

6. Capsicum ¼ cup

7. Garlic 2 cloves

8. Oil

9. Salt to taste

10. Garam masala for garnish

METHOD:

· Wash and drain water from the chicken

· In a grinder add ingredients no 2 to no 7 ,to smooth paste don’t add water

· In bowl add the grind mixture, chicken ,salt ,lemon juice and oil 2 tsp and marinate the chicken for 4-5 hours

Ingredients

1 chicken – cut into pieces

1 cup yogurt

1/2 cup onion paste

1 tsp garlic paste

1 tsp ginger paste

1 cup chopped coriander leaves

1 cup chopped mint leaves

1 Tbsp chopped green chillies

1 tsp salt or to taste

1 cup roasted gram (bhuna channa)

1 Tbsp coriander powder

1 tsp garam masala

1 tsp powdered black pepper

2 Tbsp oil

Onion rings and lemon wedges for garnish

Method

Grind together the coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chillies and gram.

Light to moderate rain lashed parts of the national capital today leading to rise in humidity level and waterlogging in several areas.

“Moderate rain was registered in the national capital with Safdarjung observatory recording 35.8 mm at 2:30 pm”, according to the MeT office.

A Mexican woman who is celebrating her 127th birthday today is believed to be the oldest human to have ever lived – and the secret to her long life may be chocolate and lots of sleep.

Leandra Becerra Lumbreras, from the western Mexican city of Zapopan, was born on August 31, 1887 and has lived through both world wars.

Her family says the secret to her longevity could be eating chocolate, sleeping for days on end and never getting married.

Maruti Suzuki India is confident of getting approval from minority shareholders to let parent Suzuki Motor Corp own and invest in its Gujarat facility and has no second option.

“We are thinking of getting voting (done) in October… There is no plan B, I can’t see why it should not happen,” Maruti Suzuki India chairman R C Bhargava told PTI in an interview.

He was responding to a query on whether Maruti had other plans if it failed to get the minority shareholders’ nod.

On the eve of the swearing-in of new Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday expressed unhappiness over the Narendra Modi government not consulting him about his appointment to the state.

“… It is customary that the Chief Minister is consulted before appointing the new Governor; they have done this (appointment) without consulting me,” he told reporters here.
