Rs 27 lakh spent on computerisation of Wakf records: Minister

Minorities Welfare Minister Syed Mohammad Ahmedullah clarified that there was no provision in the Central Wakf Act for the computerisation of records of wakf properties in the State.

Replying to a question raised by Congress MLA Shaik Mastan Vali during Question Hour in the State Legislative Assembly on Wednesday, the minister said that although there was no legal compulsion, the State Government has taken up the computerisation of all records of State Wakf Board pertaining to over 37,000 wakf properties in the State.

Mamata’s ‘Nephew’ Arrested for Slapping Traffic Cop

The police arrested Akash Banerjee, who claimed himself to be the nephew of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, and two others on the charge of slapping a traffic sergeant on duty at Kidderpore in the southern part of the city today.

Though the police refused to confirm whether Akash Banerjee was really the nephew of the chief minister as claimed, eyewitnesses said that the man shouted at the police saying he is the chief minister’s nephew when his car was stopped for violating traffic rules in the morning rush hour.

Asia Cup squad: Sachin named; Sehwag , Zaheer rested

Master batsman Sachin Tendulkar found a place in the Indian ODI team for the Asia Cup, scheduled to be held next month in Bangladesh.

However, Virender Sehwag, who has had a horrendous Australian tour so far, was ‘rested’ for the Asia Cup which was declared today in Mumbai.

Apart from his form with the bat, his relation with skipper MS Dhoni broke down in the tour and became a centre of debate at a time when the concentration should have been on how to improve the team’s sagging morale.

The team will be led by regular skipper MS Dhoni while young Virat Kohli would be his deputy.

Ingredients:

• 1 kg Chicken Breast
• 2-3 tbsp Almonds (sliced)
• 2 tbsp Corn Oil
• 1/2 cup Yogurt
• 1 cup Onion (grounded)
• 5 cloves Garlic (minced)
• 6 Green Cardamom
• 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
• 1/2 cup Cashew Nuts (grounded)
• 2 Tomatoes (cut into small pieces)
• 1“ fresh Ginger (minced)
Procedure:

• Heat the oil; add the ground onion and stir until it changes its color.
• Mix garlic & ginger continue to fry till light brown.

Recipe: Kashmiri Biryani

Try out this easy to make recipe. Ingredients:

• 750 gms Mutton
• 1 kg Chicken
• 1 kg Basmati rice
• 200 ml Milk
• 2 tsp Curds
• 1 tsp Dry ginger powder
• 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder
• 150 gms Ghee
• 1/4 tsp Kewra essence
• 2 gms Saffron
• 2 tsp Red chilli powder
• 1 Pinch asafoetida
• 1 tsp Garam masala powder
• 2 tsp Fennel seed powder
• 1/4 tsp Sugar
• Salt to taste

Procedure:

• Fry asafetida and mutton pieces in ghee.
• Add curds to the mixture and fry till pink.
• Pour water and add salt to taste. Mix well.

Recipe: Kaddu Ka Dalcha

Ingredients:

• 1 Medium sized kaddu (pumpkin)
• 250 gms Chanay ki dal
• 250 gms Tomatoes
• 150 gms Cooking oil
• 2 Onions
• 2 tsp Red chilly powder
• 50 gm Tamarind
• 3 gm Shiazira, grounded
• 1 Katta kotmir
• 1 Katta kariapak
• 10 Green chilies, chopped
• 1 tbsp Ginger-garlic paste
• 1/2 tsp Turmeric
• 5 gm Dalchini (cinnamon)
• 5 gm Grounded eaichi
• 2 tsp Powdered jaggery
• Salt to taste

Procedure:

• Wash and cut the bottle gourd (kaddu) into pieces.

Court sets Fardeen Khan free in cocaine case

Actor Fardeen Khan will not be tried in the much published cocaine case anymore.

The actor heaved a sigh of relief when charges framed against him were dropped by the Mumbai sessions court, acquitting him from a jail term.

The actor was booked in the case of cocaine seizure in 2001 for buying 1 gm of cocaine from a drug dealer in Mumbai.

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) had arrested Fardeen in Juhu in northwest Mumbai on May 5, 2001 on charges of possessing cocaine.

Both the precious metals, silver and gold maintained an upward rally for the third straight day on the bullion market on Wednesday on increased buying by stockists for the ongoing marriage season amid a firming global trend.

Minor Boys Gang-Rape A Minor Girl, Delhi’s Image Battered Once Again

In a shocking incident, which has further tarnished the image of national capital, Delhi, three minor boys have gang-raped their own minor friend.

Five days ago, the three boys who are students of class VIII and IX persuaded the girl for a trip to Rishikesh without informing their parents.

They booked a room in a hotel and forcibly raped the girl one-by-one.

On their way back to Delhi, the group ran into GRP police at Haridwar station which got suspicious as the girl was crying incessantly.

When the police interrogated the boys strictly, they spilled the beans.

Pak okays process of obtaining Interpol notice for Musharraf

Pakistan’s Interior Ministry has given its approval for the process of obtaining a Red Corner Notice from Interpol for the arrest of former military ruler Pervez Musharraf, Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said.

The Interior Ministry’s approval has been sent to the Federal Investigation Agency, which is working on the matter, Malik told reporters during an interaction on Tuesday night.

He said he was hopeful the FIA would implement the ministry’s directive in the next few days by writing a letter to Interpol.

Pakistani army dismisses WikiLeaks’ Osama allegations

Pakistani army Tuesday denied whistleblowing website WikiLeaks cable’s allegation, suggesting Pakistan military and the main intelligence officials were aware of Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden’s presence in Abbottabad city.

The US military killed bin Laden May 2, 2011, leaving the Pakistan government embarrassed over his presence in the country, Xinhua reported.
