Bangladeshi woman bobbitises ‘lover’

Dhaka, May 31: A Bangladeshi woman cut off the genitals of a man when he allegedly attempted to rape her. The woman later took the cut-off genitals to a police station as evidence against him, BBC reported.

Monju Begum, a 40-year-old mother-of-three, from Mirzapur, about 160 km from Dhaka, attacked the man after he reportedly burst into her shack and launched a sex attack.

She then wrapped up the man’s genitals in polythene bag and handed them over to police, officials said.

TDP deres AP CM to face no-trust-motion

Hyderabad, May 31: TDP deres AP CM to face no-trust-motion Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has been challenged by Telugu Desham Party to immediately convene a special session of the Legislative Assembly to face a no-confidence motion.

The TDP, during its recent three-day annual conclave ‘Mahanadu’, announced that it would move a no-confidence motion against the Congress government on the farmers’ and other ‘anti-people’ issues.

Hyderabad, May 31: President All India Samajika Mahajana Sangharshana Samithi, Mohammad Nasir Hussain requested strict implementation of GO regarding teaching Urdu as second language in English medium schools so that Muslim students can perform well in exams.

In a statement he said Urdu is the mother tongue of Muslims hence if Muslim students who take admissions in English medium schools have Urdu as their second language it would be better for them, since they can make their future better through good educational performance.

Indian groom died in Saudi mishap

Fujairah, May 31: Wedding plans turned tragic when a 24-year-old Indian died in a road accident in Fujairah just two months before his marriage.

The incident occurred last week when the Moideen Kutty from Kerala, India, was driving at night near the New Industrial Area in Fujairah.

The vehicle lost balance and hit the divider. He died on the spot following severe head injuries.

Kutty was transporting goods from one of his father’s restaurants to another one which was located a few streets away.

Amritsar, May 31: After their release from the Sharjah central jail in Dubai where they were on death row, it was an emotional and tearful reunion for the three Punjab youths with their families here on Tuesday.

The youths, in their twenties, were sentenced to death in Dubai in the case of bootlegging and murder. But their lives were saved by the efforts of a Dubai-based NGO ‘Sarbat Da Bhala’ that has paid blood money to secure their release.

They were released from the jail May 29 and reached this city of Punjab Tuesday morning.

Islamabad, May 31: Pakistan is in a dilemma. No one of repute is ready to head an official commission to probe the killing of Al Qaeda head Osama bin Laden.

American commandos killed Osama May 2 in Abbottabad city, 120 km from Islamabad, leading to a major diplomatic crisis between Pakistan and the US.

A joint session of parliament May 13 recommended setting up a panel to look into Osama’s killing.

Information Minister Firdous Ashiq said the government was looking for an individual of national and international repute, the Dawn newspaper reported Tuesday.
