It was Murder plot for Akbaruddin Owaisi

Andhra Pradesh legislator Akbaruddin Owaisi was injured when rivals opened fired on him here Saturday, sparking tension in the old city of Hyderabad. Police later said his condition was stable.

Another MIM legislator, Ahmed Balala , was also injured when he tried to save Owaisi, a prominent Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) leader. One of the assailants was shot dead and two were injured by Balala’s gunmen.

A profusely bleeding Owaisi was rushed to the Owaisi Hospital in Santosh Nagar.

Man held for conning a businessman

Hyderabad, April 30: Central Crime Station police on Friday arrested a man who duped a businessman by trying to sell a land under litigation which is mortgaged with a bank.

Inspector CCS Mr. G Venkateshwarulu told that Mohammad Ameen Saya resident of Noorkhan Bazar who is the owner of Afreen Collection situated near Madina building entered into an agreement to sell a land situated at Shahpur Village Shamsabad mandal to a businessman Vikas Kumar Agarwal in the year 2008.

Youth from Warangal dies in road accident in Dubai

Hyderabad, April 30: A Muslim youth from Ghanpur town of Warangal district who had gone to United Arab Emirates in search of lively hood and was working as watchman in a company in Dubai died in a road accident.

According to details 35 year old Sayeed Ullah was returning home after duty when an unidentified vehicle hit him leaving him injured.

He struggled between life and death for two days in a hospital and later succumbed to injuries.

His family members got the news on telephone yesterday night. He is survived by wife Yaqoob Bi and two small kids.

Akbar Owaisi is in critical condition

Hyderabad, April 30: In a sensational attack, Chandrayangutta MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi was fired at 5 times this morning when he was undertaking a padayatra in Barkas.

The MLA was rushed to the Owaisi Hospital in Santoshnagar, and may be shifted to Care Hospital in Nampally. His condition is stated to be out of danger.

The Malakpet MLA Ahmed Bin Abdullah Balala was also injured in the incident.

Man flees nude after police raid

London, April 30: A man fled in the buff from a brothel in China after a police raid — and he was hotly chased by a prostitute wearing only a towel.

As soon as the police raid began in China’s Jilin province, the man just took off minus his clothes and raced across a rooftop, The Sun reported.

He climbed down a telegraph pole and ran to escape. He was followed by a prostitute wrapped in a towel. The news report did not mention whether the two were successful in escaping or if they were caught.

China has strong anti-prostitution laws.

Girl missing for Jedimetla found dead in Vijayawada

Hyderabad, April 30: 14 year old girl, who was missing from the outskirts of Jedimetla was found dead in Vijayawada.

It is said that victim Bhavani along with her friends Praveen and Prasad both aged 15 years was missing since April 21.

Police suspected that the girl has been throttled to death after being raped and the body was flung at the Coast of Krishna River.

According to police sources after the annual exams were finished Bhavani went out of her house saying to her parents that she is going to Suraram tank along with her friends Prasad and Praveen.

Old city area tense after attack on Akbaruddin Owaisi

Hyderabad, April 30: The floor leader of Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) party in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly and three term MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi was shot at by his rivals in the old city of Hyderabad on Saturday morning.

The attack took place when Akbaruddin was participating in padayatra at Barkas areas in his con stituency Chandrayanagutta in old city. Police said that a group of four persons came horses and fired from pistols at the MLA and his supporters. Besides Akbaruddin , another MIM MLA Ahmad Balala and a MIM corporator were injured in the attack.

‘I-T dept withholding Radia tapes’

New Delhi, April 30: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) have complained to the Supreme Court that the Income Tax department has not handed over the entire contents of the explosive Radia tapes. And this ”non-cooperation” is hampering investigations.

Sources confirmed to Zee News that out of the 5,000 hours of recording only a ”fraction” had been made available to the CBI.

Judicial Custody of Aseemanand Extended

Jaipur, April 30: A local court today extended the judicial custody of Swami Aseemanand, an accused in several terror cases, including Ajmer Dargah blast, and Bharat Bhai till May 14 on an appeal by the National Investigation Agency.

The accused were today produced before the court of Magistrate C N Mathur, who extended their judicial custody on a plea by the NIA.

The NIA has sought time to submit a charge sheet against the two accused.

Aseemananad also filed a bail application through the defence lawyer. The matter will be taken up for hearing on May 2.

Akbar Owaisi, Balala critical

Hyderabad, April 30: Akbaruddin Owaisi is in critical condition after unidentified gunmen opened fire on him in Chandrayangutta on Saturday. Police said two other persons were also injured in the shooting, and added that the attack was said to have been master-minded by his rivals.

Itanagar, April 30: A helicopter with Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu on board went missing Saturday after taking off from Tawang, Arunachal MP Takam Sanjay said.

Sanjay told IANS that the four-seater chopper lost communication with the ground after crossing the Tezpur airbase in Assam.

It took off from Tawang at 9.50 a.m.

“We are in touch with the defence ministry and civil aviation authorities,” Sanjay said.

Eight-year-old boy sells gun to classmate for $3.50

New York, April 30: An eight-year-old schoolboy here sold his father’s loaded gun to a classmate for $3.50, officials said.

The boy, a third-grader, took the gun from the top of a shelf where his father had hidden it.

There were three live rounds in the illegal 9-mm pistol when the boy took it to his school in Flushing and sold it to a classmate Thursday, nydailynews.com reported.

A senior police said the gun’s serial number had been scratched off.

Heavily drunk policemen assault Muslim youth

Hyderabad, April 30: 4 policemen belonging to Amberpet police station assaulted Muslim youth late at night at Telephone quarters near Sayeedabad IS Sadan and left him seriously injured.

State of fear prevailed in the area following the incident as the heavily drunk policemen also created chaos.

According to details a sub inspector of Amberpet CPL and 3 other constables were drinking outside the house of Zakir Husain’s friend to which the later objected.

1 killed, 4 injured in Kashmir clashes

Srinagar, April 30: One person died and four others, including two police officers, were injured when clashes broke out between supporters and rivals of slain Jamiat-e-Ahli Hadees chief Moulvi Showkat Ahmad Shah here.

Sixteen people have been arrested so far in connection with the clashes, officials said.

Clashes broke out between the rival groups of Jamiat-e-Ahli Hadees in Nowgam area in the outskirts of the city Friday night, in which one person was critically injured, they said.

Seven persons burnt to death in Orissa

Berhampur, April 30: At least seven persons, including a woman, were burnt to death by a mob in a stone crusher unit in Ganjam district, about 60 km from here, a senior police official said today.

Six bodies, charred beyond recognition, were found inside a room, while another was lying in the premises of the unit last night, said DIG (Southern Range), R K Sharma.

“We suspect that the assailants used diesel or petrol to set the room on fire with the victims trapped inside,” he said.
