Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today welcomed the Union Cabinet s approval of transfer of land at Ranchi by Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC) to the state government.
Das said the decision would not only help Ranchi to become smart city but would also benefit HEC by way of getting money in lieu of land. The company could return its arrears, an official release said.
He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Cabinet for the decision.
Earlier in the day, the Union Cabinet approved the transfer of 675.43 acres land at Ranchi by Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC) to the Jharkhand government, which will help the loss-making firm raise Rs 742.98 crore.
