Darussalam capital for Muslims: Akbaruddin Owaisi

Hyderabad: MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi claimed that the party headquarters, Darussalam, had become a capital of Muslims just like Delhi is the capital of India. He was addressing a gathering of supporters and party workers at the MIM headquarters in Darussalam, on Thursday on the occasion of the 59th Revival Day of All India Majlis Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM). Giving the reasoning behind his comment he further added that the thinking and deliberation, besides representation, goes to Indian Muslims from here. He claimed that it was MIM’s pressure that forced the Telangana government to issue an order that Muslims be treated on a par with SCs and STs. He further claimed that the party had worked relentlessly for securing several schemes and benefits in the field of education and healthcare for the Muslim community.

Chandrayangutta MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi also slammed the Modi government for using issues like donkey (gadha), Diwali, qabrastan and Burqa for diverting public attention from important issues ahead of the Uttar Pradesh elections.

The state of affairs is thus that donkeys have become important. We thought that after the chaiwaala took over the reins, things would be done differently, but now donkeys have become an issue, he said.

Raking up Alair encounter issue of 2015 in which five Muslim under-trials were killed, he vowed to put those responsible for the killing behind bars and bring justice to those who died in the encounter.
