Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday condoled the loss of lives due to the landslides in Darjeeling district and announced a compensation of Rs. 2 lakh from the PMNRF, to the families of the deceased.

A compensation of Rs. 2 lakh from the PMNRF would be provided to the families of the deceased.
MoS Home Shri Kiren Rijiju is going to the locations to take stock of the situation. A team from NDRF is extending all possible support”, the Prime Minister said.
At least 28 people were killed in a landslide triggered by heavy rainfall in Darjeeling’s Mirik and Kalimpong areas. (ANI)
