Dargah Hussain Shah Wali Wakf property case-Plea to Rehman Khan to interfere

Union Minister of Minority Affairs, Mr. K.Rehman Khan discuss various issues with the officials of Wakf Board and State Minorities Commission yesterday. The meeting was arranged by Chairman of A.P. State Minorities Commission, Mr. Abid Rasool Khan, Maulana Syed Ghulam Afzal Biyabani, Chairman of A.P. State Wakf Board briefed the Minister about the functioning of Wakf Board and the successes it achieved during the tenure of his office as Chairman. President of the Managing Committee of Dagah Hazrath Hussain Shah Wali, Mr. Syed Afzal Mehdi and Secretary Mr. Syed Mohammed Mohammed Gesudaraz Hussaini and other officials of the committee desired the Central Minister to exert his pressure on the State Govt. to withdraw the case of owner of the Wakf property belonging to Dargah Hazrath Hussain Shah Wali. An area of 600 acres is still vacant which is free from possession, which could be handed over to Dargah Committee. Chairman of Wakf Board and other officials told that Minister that the case of Wakf Board is very strong in Supreme Court.

Mr. Rehman Khan desired the Wakf Board and the Managing Committee of Dargah Hazrath Hussain Shah Wali to prepare a comprehensive note and send it to his Ministry so that he could study the ongoing legal case in Supreme Court.

Chairman of Wakf Board informed the Minster that after his taking over charge as chairman various steps have been taken to increase the income of Wakf Board as a result of which its income has risen from Rs.15.5 crore to Rs.28 crore. He also told that eviction notices have been given to illegal occupants of more than 8000 wakf properties. Maulana Biybani also told that Wakf Board is constructing a commercial complex adjacent to Haj House covering the floor area of 1.65 lakh square feet.
