New Delhi, Sept 6 : Former Union Cabinet minister Anand Sharma on Sunday challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar to deny that the decision to implement One Rank One Pension (OROP) was made during the time of Congress.
“I dare the Prime Minister and Defense Minister to say that decision was not made earlier. If that is what they’re saying, PM is being most untruthful and misleading and he is playing politics.” said Sharma.
Sharma also added that “We are not playing politics, we are just pointing out that the decision was already made”
Prime Minister Modi on Sunday mocked the opposition for criticising his government over the One Rank, One Pension (OROP) scheme announced, and claimed that justice had finally been delivered to the ex-servicemen after 42 years.
“This matter was pending for over four decades. Everyone had sympathies but justice was not given to our ex-servicemen,” said Prime Minister Modi (ANI)
