New Delhi: Dangal Actress Zaira Wasim’s decision to quit Bollywood as she felt her this line of work was a direct threat to her faith did not go down well with few people especially Bollywood celebrities.
Senior Bollywood Actress Raveena Tondon seems to be irked with this open confession and took to Twitter to express her views.
“Doesn’t matter if two film olds are ungrateful to the industry that have given them all. Just wish they’d exit gracefully and keep their regressive views to themselves .”

Well, Zaira’s decision to quit her acting career has become controversial though she stated facts related to Islam.
A very courageous move to openly confess about her dilemma, Zaira’s is indeed a true inspiration to youths who nowadays seem to get addicted to the limelight of fame.
Well an answer to all the ungrateful claims made against her, Zaira in her open letter in Facebook had thanked her supporters and said : “This field indeed brought a lot of love, support, and applause my way, but what it also did was to lead me to a path of ignorance, as I silently and unconsciously transitioned out of imaan. While I continued to work in an environment that consistently interfered with my imaan, my relationship with my religion was threatened.”
However, the production house – Roy Kapur Films, in their statement released to PTI supported the actress decision to call it quits.
We were lucky to have a talented actress like Zaira in ‘The Sky Is Pink’ film said the statement.
The statement also read, “Zaira is an exceptional artiste and we are lucky to have had her play Aisha Chaudhury in our film, ‘The Sky Is Pink’. She has been a complete professional all through the shoot of the film, which concluded earlier this month. This is a purely personal decision, which she has taken after much thought and we will be supportive of her in every way – now and always.”
Directed by Shonali Bose, the movie also features Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar in key roles and slated to be released on October 11 this year.
