Rajya Sabha MP V. Hanumantha Rao on Saturday claimed that Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee president Danam Nagender will not leave the Congress party.
Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here, VHR said Danam had served as MLA thrice and he also became a minister due to the Congress party. He said if he has any grievances, then he could approach the Congress High Command. He said leaving Congress party would not be good either for his career or the Congress party. He expressed confidence that Danam would take a wise decision of continuing with the Congress party.
VHR also slammed Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao for luring leaders of opposition parties. He said KCR is continuing Talasani Srinivas Yadav as a minister in his cabinet although he continues to be a TDP MLA. He said that the opposition leaders, who are joining TRS, might get some timely gains. But they will lose badly in the longer run. He asked the TPCC and CLP to instill confidence among the party cadre to prevent them from getting demoralised due to defection by some leaders.
Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha MP Palwai Govardhan Reddy said that the Congress party would suffer no damage if some leaders quit and join TRS. He challenged KCR to create own leadership in TRS instead of poaching leaders from other parties. (INN)
