Making it clear that he would not shift his loyalties to any other political party, former minister and Greater Congress party chief Danam Nagender has said he was not unhappy towards the party high command.
Speaking to the media after a meeting with his followers, supporters and former corporators here on Thursday, Danam exuded confidence that the Congress would wrest Mayoral post in Hyderabad. Stating that the habit of encouraging migrations from other parties to the ruling party was very common, Danam alleged that a section of people were indulging in false campaigning against him. He lamented that the party was trying to show him door.
Swearing that he would make efforts to stop the migration from the party, Danam said he has enmity with none in the party. “We will hoist our party flag atop the GHMC by working together”, he said. He clarified that he was away from the Congress Coordination Committee meetings because he was not a member of that committee. AICC president Sonia Gandhi, AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh have shouldered the responsibilities of the GHMC party, he added. (NSS)
