Labour Minister Danam Nagender here on Friday said every one has to wait till the Centre announced its decision on Telengana. He also made it clear that he was not talking on the issue as Congress president Sonia Gandhi wanted every one to keep silent on the sensitive issue till a decision was announced.
Asked why failed to attend the Telangana Congress leaders’ meeting in the residence of Panchayat Raj Minister K. Jana Reddy, Danam said that he could not turn up at the meeting as he was busy with various inaugural functions attended by Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy in the city.
The minister exuded confidence that Sonia Gandhi would solve Telangana issue soon. He also said that he would stick to his earlier stand on Greater Hyderabad. He recalled that he had submitted a charter of demands about Hyderabad city to Justice Srikrishna Committee as well as the Centre in the event of formation of Telangana State.
Reiterating that he would fight for the welfare of the people of Greater Hyderabad in case the State was divided, Danam clarified that he was not against Telangana State.
