Danam asks seemaandhra colleagues to tender apology

Hyderabad, August 18: The Minister for Health, Mr Danam Nagender, on Tuesday demanded that the Seemandhra ministers tender an unconditional apology for making grave remarks hurting the sentiments of the people of Telangana.

Speaking to mediapersons here, Mr Nagender opined that the Seemandhra ministers dubbing those demanding separate Telangana State as anti-nationals had injured the sentiments of Telangana people severely. He also strongly criticised them for making such an irresponsible statement. Though there was right to express views in a democracy, it was not correct to dub the separatists as anti-nationals hurting the sentiments of the people of other region. The results of the recent by-elections in Telangana have reflected the deep Telangana sentiment and strong desire for separate State, he added.

Replying to a question, the Minister made it clear that the Congress high command has not instructed the party leaders not to participate in the Odarpu Yatra of the Kadapa MP, Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. “We all want that

Mr Jagan should act as per the direction of the party high command. I have also informed the same to him”, he said.

Responding to another query, Mr Nagender said that the party high command alone would decide whether Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy should be given PCC chief’s post or not.
