Dan Stevens to star in ‘Call of the Wild.’

Washington: ‘Beauty and Beast’ actor Dan Stevens has landed a role alongside Harrison Ford in 20th Century Fox’s ‘Call of the wild.’

The film is an adaptation of Jack London’s classic novel of the same name, that follows the journey of a sledge dog named Buck in the Alaskan wilderness.

According to the Variety, Harrison Ford is playing John Thornton, a prosecutor searching for gold in the unforgiving Yukon. Buck ends up becoming Thornton’s closest ally in the wilderness.

It is unclear what role Stevens will play.

The adventure film will be directed by “The Croods” director Chris Sanders and is set to be shot in California.
Meanwhile, Dan Stevens is currently starring in FX’s “Legion”, a comic book adaptation where he will deal with mutant powers.

On a related note, the role of Thornton in the previous adaptations of the novel was played by Clark Gable and Charlton Heston. (ANI)
