Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen’s candidate from Secunerabad Lok Sabha constituency N Mohan Rao has claimed that the MIM was a true secular party and his nomination was a proof for the same.
Speaking to media persons after filing his nomination here on Wednesday, Mohan Rao thanked MIM President Asaduddin Owaisi for selecting him as party’s candidate for the Secunderabad Lok Sabha seat. He said that the MIM has been working for the empowerment of minorities, Dalits, BCs and other weaker sections. Stating that he has been participating in the Dalit empowerment movement for the last three decades, he praised the MIM chief for promoting Dalit leaders in the party.
Expressing confidence of winning from Secunderabad Lok Sabha seat, Mohan Rao said that he would continue to work for the welfare of Dalits and minorities under the banner of MIM.
It may be mentioned that Mohan Rao is the husband of MIM’s former corporator Swaroopa. (INN)
