Dalits benefitted most during YSR term than in any other period in the form of medicare, housing, pensions and scholarships, YSR Congress Party leaders said here on Monday.
“If Congress tries to project YSR as anti-dalit, the party will have no future in the State as dalits were part of the development process during YSR term,” YSRC Party SC Cell convener, Nalla Suryaprakasa Rao and SC Commission former chairman Meruga Nagarjuna told reporters here.
Thousands of dalits who has no access to quality medicare were given the opportunity to get treatment in corporate hospitals through Aarogyasri, while dalits got a lion’s share of 48 lakh houses constructed under Indiramma scheme, they said.
Majority of the beneficiaries under fee reimbursement scheme were from the weaker sections and if Congress leaders like Kondru Murali, JD Seelam and Harsha Kumar start speaking against YSR policies, Congress party will have to face the ire of the dalits, they said.
The corrupt practices of the three Congress leaders follow them as a shadow and they have no moral right to speak about YSR, whose welfare schemes had received a nation-wide acclaim, they said. (INN)
