Though days has been passed to the suicide of Dalit research scholar, the Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao didn’t open up to the case.
A group of students from HCU staged protest at Secretariat on Tuesday demanding KCR to speak on Rohit’s death and help to the deceased’s family. They were taken into custody and were let off later.
The students arrived in ones and suddenly gathered at the entrance gate of the Secretariat where police swooped on them and stopped them entering the premises. Students raised slogans in memory of Rohith and held sit-in for a while.
The dead student, Rohit Vemula was among the five research scholars who were suspended by Hyderabad Central University (HCU) in August last year.
