There are more reports of inaction over crimes against women from Amroha in Uttar Pradesh. Upset by the lack of action by authorities after his daughter was allegedly sexually assaulted, a Dalit man has committed suicide.
According to his family, a group of men kidnapped and tried to rape the minor girl. They alleged that the police failed to take any action in the case, despite her father filing a complaint.
They also said that the Panchayat refused to act against the alleged perpetrators.
“The police did not help us at all, they did not hear our pleas. They’re responsible for my husband’s death.
