Dalit man brutally assaulted, tortured with electric shocks on suspicion of theft

Shahjahanpur: In a shocking incident, an employer brutally assaulted a 28-year-old Dalit man on the suspicion of theft. The victim’s employer suspected that he has stolen money.

According to the report published in TOI, this incident occurred in Nighasan area of Lakhimpur Kheri District. The victim was also tortured with electric shocks.

It is also reported that after the incident, the victim, Kamlesh Kumar who is deaf and mute was found lying on the roadside. Later, the victim narrated the torture he faced. He told that his employer Yogesh Verma had assaulted him with sticks and iron rods. He also told that the accused had tortured him with electric shocks on private parts.

Police registered a case against the accused under section 323 of IPC and SC/ST act.

It may be mentioned that Kamlesh Kumar who lost his father was working as a labourer.

Meanwhile, Dr. Arun Kumar Mishra confirmed that the victim was tortured.
