New Delhi: Dalit girl, who became pregnant after being raped, has become a problem for the Kharar Sadar police.
The Civil Hospital, Kharar, had reported the matter to the police, but the victim girl and her parents are terrified to give their statement to the police. The 20-year-old girl, who belonged to a poor family, told her parents that she was having pain in her abdomen. She was brought to the Civil Hospital, Kharar, on July 14 and was medically examined. The doctor on duty became suspicious and asked her to get an ultrasound done. The girl, however, left the hospital along with her father. A doctor informed the police that the girl had informed doctors of sexual assault but left the hospital when she was referred for ultrasound.
Kharar Sadar SHO Bhagwant Singh visited the village and investigated the matter. Earlier, the victim’s mother narrated the whole story to the police, but now the victim and her parents are not ready to give their statement to the police. The family is suspected to be under pressure from the accused
