Dalit bodies demand CID, judicial probe into Dalit youth’s murder in Jangaon

Several Dalit organizations have demanded that the State government order CB-CID as well as judicial inquiry into the Dalit youth Mahender’s murder and arrest the guilty.

           

Speaking to the media here on Tuesday along with Mahender’s parents Komurayya, Sathemma, Dalita Hakkula Porata Samithi State president Renukuntla Ellaiah, MRPS State vice-president B Vijayabhasker Rao said Mahender was an auto driver and belongs to Seetharamapuram village in Jangaon district. They alleged that Kali Shankaraiah, Kali Somallaiah, Sheguri Pandu, Narsaiah, Vadlakonda Mallaiah had butchered Mahender with axes when Mahender was returning in his auto with school children on June 23 alleging that Mahender was in love with a girl of the same village. They alleged that the police failed to register a case though a complaint was lodged with the Gundala police station. They also alleged that the police shielded the accused instead of doing justice to the Dalit’s family. They demanded that the State government make the police to do justice and initiate action against the police as per law for sidetracking the case.
