Dalai Lama appeals to people to respect all religions

Gangtok, December 20: Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama today appealed to people from all faiths to give equal respect to all the religions in the world.

All the major religions in the world have visions, so people should learn the principles of such religions and use it in their day to day life, Dalai Lama said while addressing devotees on his arrival here.

Thousands of people lined up the streets from the Army Helipad at Libing to the Circuit House to have a glimpse of the spiritual leader, who arrived from Ravangla in South Sikkim.

Dalai Lama is on a eight-day Sikkim visit from December 15 to 22. The state government has banned slaughter of animals during his stay.
