Dadri, Oct. 7 : Following their peace meeting with the Gautam Buddha Nagar District administration, residents of Bishada village in Dadri, claimed there was no problem in the village and that people were living in harmony.
Last week a 50-year-old man, Mohammad Akhlaq (Ikhlaq), was lynched for allegedly buying and eating beef in his house in Bishada village.
“Environment here is fine, it is the statements that politicians are making that are creating problems,” said one of the villagers.
“There is no tension in the village, everyone is living in harmony,” said another villager.
The family of Mohammad Akhlaq (Ikhlaq) have appealed to all politicians to stop politicising the issue and demanded justice.
Several prominent leaders, including Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, have visited the victims’ family last week to express their condolences. (ANI)
