Dadri lynching in UP a ‘stray’ incident, says Union Minister

Hyderabad: Union Rural Development Minister Birender Singh today condemned the Dadri lynching in Uttar Pradesh and described it as “stray” and “unfortunate” incident.

“These are stray incidents and if such incidents take place, it is very unfortunate. Everybody should condemn such,” he said.

A man was beaten to death and his son was critically injured by a mob which barged into their house at Dadri in Greater Noida on Monday night following rumours that the family had eaten beef.

The Centre has sought a detailed report from the Uttar Pradesh Government on the incident and asked it to ensure that such incidents never recur.

Asked about Indo-Pak relations, the BJP leader said tensions between the two neighbours are not in the interest of anybody and that dialogue is the best way forward.
