Dadri lynching: Family of Akhlaq depends on SC order

Greater Noida: Family of Dadri lynching victim is now depending on Supreme Court’s order on mob lynching.

Talking to media person, Mr. Yusuf Saifi, Akhlaq family’s lawyer said that on 1st August, during the hearing, he had filed an application requesting for setting up designated court to hear the case on daily basis.

According to the report published in Economic Times, he said that as per SC order, cases of lynching be heard on daily basis by a designated court. He further said that in case of Akhlaq, till now even charges have not been framed.

As per the case record, in 2016, 25 hearings were done on the case whereas, in 2017, the number of hearing on the case fell down to 12. This year, till now, there were 6 hearings on the case.

Talking about the case, Jaan Mohammed, brother of Akhlaq said that in each hearing, either he or Akhlaq’s son, Sartaj go. Jaan Mohammed also said he has complete faith in the court. However, he alleged that the accused persons are making an attempt to derail the trial.

It may be mentioned that Mohd Akhlaq was killed in 2015.
