New Delhi: Former Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Shahid Siddiqui on Saturday said that instead of playing politics over the Dadri incident by paying visit to the village, the Congress and other parties should express their goodwill everywhere.
“Congress or any other party doesn’t need to visit that village in Dadri. If they want to express goodwill, they should express it everywhere,” Siddiqui told ANI.
“The question is not about only Akhlaq’s death or any particular village. This fire is spreading in each and every village. We have to change our mindset, our mentality to extinguish this fire of hatred. There is no point of creating nuisance and ruckus by going to that village. This is not goodwill. This is just politics played by all the political parties,” he added.
Earlier, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and some local Congress leaders were stopped from entering Bishada village to meet the family of Mohammad Akhlaq, after villagers upset over a steady stream of visitors pelted stones at media persons. (ANI)
